P-47 II MD

P-47 II MD

Developed by NMK and published by Jaleco, in 1988 P-47: The Phantom Fighter ("P-47: The Freedom Fighter" in Japan) was released in Arcades around the world and immediately achieved great success. It was 1989 when, thanks to the success of the arcades, conversions began to be released for PCs and consoles of the time such as PC Engine, Amiga, Amstrad CPC, MS-DOS, Atari ST, Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum with the name of P47 Thunderbolt, the only conversion missing was the one for the Japanese Mega Drive which, although it was already in the final development phase and renamed with P-47 II: The Freedom Star, was canceled and never saw an official release...until today!!!

This re-release is called P-47 II MD and features new box art by Tankro Kato, known for his illustrations on Hasegawa model kits, but that's not all! It's an "updated" version that contains a new sound test mode and more refined graphics, plus there are a myriad of weapon upgrades and a hyper attack that, in an emergency, can clear all enemies and projectiles from the screen! This year is the first time that this game has been released in a version compatible with the North American SEGA Genesis (NTSC) and the European Mega Drive (PAL), as well as most compatible third-party consoles. This is therefore a real treat for all shooter fans who can finally try their hand at this almost forgotten exciting game.

Then fight on the European and Pacific fronts during World War II and take control of the United States Air Force P-47 Thunderbolt! Fight to destroy the prototype Japanese super-heavy bomber FUGAKU and with stunning multi-layered scrolling navigate through beautifully rendered levels, including scenic European landscapes, high-altitude cloud seas and vast oceans. Take on iconic bosses, such as the battleship YAMATO and the aircraft carrier AKAGI!

P-47 II MD Collector’s Edition is an import product available HERE for purchase with a 30-day right of withdrawal and a two-year EU legal warranty period.
